公司始建于1938年，是由原山东新华印务有限责任公司、山东德州新华印务有限责任公司、山东泰安新华印务有限责任公司整合而成，隶属于山东出版传媒股份有限公司，是国家印刷示范企业，山东省重点文化企业。
2020年7月，股份公司所属印刷企业进行了改革重组，采用“总--分公司”的组织架构和管理模式，将所属子公司整合为一家全资子公司，成立印刷总公司。公司下辖济南、德州、泰安三个分公司及济南华福印刷材料有限公司，总资产近10亿元，职工1300余人，各类技术人员600余人。企业拥有柯达鼎盛高速喷墨数字轮转印刷生产线、海德堡印刷机、小森System 35S商业轮转印刷机、马天尼胶订联动线、马天尼MC60全自动精装生产线等国际印装设备，形成激光照排、电脑设计、彩色制版、书刊印刷、彩色印刷、商业印刷、精平装、热熔胶等多条生产流水线，集制版、印刷、装订和包装为一体，实现了“印前数字网络化，印刷多色高效化，印后精美自动化”。年生产能力：排字6亿字，书刊印装260万令，彩色印刷1500万色令，热熔胶生产2000吨，是省内国有印刷企业。

(Shandong Xinhua Printing House) , which was established in 1946, is located in the world famous Spring City- Jinan, covering an area of 66000 square meters, with the total assets over 300 million yuan and a staff of over 700 at work among whom 300 are professional technicians in different fields. Shandong Xinhua Printing Co. Ltd is under the umbrella of Shandong Publishing &Media Co.，Ltd, and is the designated printing enterprise at the national level.
The company is equipped with over 500 advanced machines in platemaking, printing, binding and hot melt adhesive, forming dozens of production lines in laser phototypesetting, computer design, color plating, book printing, color printing, business printing, hard-cover and paper-cover, hot melt cohesive, and basically realizing the goal of "digitalization before printing, high efficiency in colorful printing, and exquisite automatization after printing ".
